Hello my name is Jose Maria. I live in the Blue Ridge
Mountains of Virginia about 1 hour west from Washington D.C.
I was born and raised in Portugal. I spent much of my youth
traveling
through Europe. I worked in France as a estivador and picking
grapes
to make wine, in Madrid, Spain as a bartender and DJ, and in
Crete
pressing olives for olive oil. I also worked in the fishing
and
processing of Salmon in Alaska where I lived in a hut that I
build
with my hands in the Prince William Sound Woods (I lived in
my hut for 6
months). I finally settled in Virginia with my wife Rita.
I just released a CD “As luck Would
Have It” with 11 songs all in Portuguese. Some are
songs that I wrote and some are very old beautiful fado
that I keep singing so we don't forget them.
